The Cold War in Korea
After world war 2 the united states and the soviet union were the worlds strongest nations. they were called super powers. They both had different ideas on how to run economy and the Government and it was quite apparent . They fought in a war that has come to known as the cold war . The united states is a capitalist country, in a capitalist country the people decide were they work and live, in the united states its "we the people" not the government we have rights and we are free. The soviet union was a communist country, in a communist country the government controls production and resources a communist country is a place were everyone is equal no one gets paid more money no matter what job you have and in a communist country there might not always be room for things you want but just enough for what you need. We can kind of have an idea as to why the united states came in to help south Korea because we did not want communism to spread. Korea was split in the 38 parallel, north being communist and south being capitalist. You didn't have a chance to say what side you wanted to be on it just happened to be whatever side your at is were you stay . A long time later the united states left Korea because they couldn't change what Korea wanted the Americans lost over 100 billion dollars on the war and lost over 58 thousand lives and Koreans lost millions. North eventually took over south Korea and to this day Korea is a communist country.
